Laziness is a state of mind where a person has a deep love affair with idleness. No action, just staying within the comfort zone is the daily schedule of such people. The interesting thing here to discuss is what makes some individuals assertive and proactive while some feel discomfort getting out of the couch.

Let’s explore what leads someone towards inaction;
No dreams, no ambition and lack of drive.
Having everything in plate for sustained period of time. It makes people complacent and lazy.
Sleeping more than 8-9 hours a day also makes you lazy.
Getting bored with idleness also breeds a weird type of laziness.
Eating carbs too much makes you feel lethargic.
No physical activity and exercise.
Watching porn on a daily basis also makes you sloth.
Hanging on social media all the time also makes you lazy. At some point, you may lose the interest in anything outside the cell phone. It’s a kind of new addiction on majority of the people. It kills connectivity with the loved ones as well.
Overthinking!!! People with such quality spend lots of time thinking about unnecessary details. They live within the mind.
Depression, stress and anxiety also breed laziness. In such situation, the mind runs wild making people feel crazy about life.
Not having any faith and belief on self leads to inaction.
Can we do anything about it? Off course yes.
Here we go with some handy ideas to transform self from laziness to proactiveness.
Have a routine and follow it mindlessly.
Apply 5 seconds rule to jump start the scheduled activity.
Eat balanced diet. Less carb, more of greens, nuts and fruits.
Make idle time or break time a reward for hours of hard work.
Do not rest too much.
Find your drive which leads you towards meaningful life.
Try to view your life independently. At the end of the day, your life is only your responsibility. No one cares.
Exercise at least 3-4 times a week. Cardio would be great.
Say big NO to Porn, it rubs your mind.
Limit your social media engagement to 30 – 40 minutes a day. (If your work is not related with social media)
You can beat overthinking, stress and anxiety with mindfulness practice.
Believe in self. I know it’s overrated but still you have to. If you believe you can, you are true and if you believe you cannot, you are still true. So, choose the first one.
Let me share one interesting story here.
If you spend time and look around the nature, you will find everything in the nature is for service to others. The mango tree with full of ripen mangos never eats own mango. It’s for others. Like wise maze, vegetables, fruits, water, air what not, everything is for others. It can be viewed as the basic foundation of nature that everything exists in the nature for service to others.
Likewise what service you want to offer to the world?? Ask yourself, find the answer and work on it. If you are not offering anything worthy to the society, you are against the nature. This simple awareness can help you find the purpose and drive in your life. Once you get driven by purpose and meaning in your life, you would be unstoppable and the laziness would suicide through window.
Our mind is like a barren field. If you sow the flowers, you must take the weeds out of the field in timely manner. If you don’t, weeds would cover the entire field and the flowers does not grow as expected. Same thing applies in life as well. If you do not strengthen the thoughts of self-discipline and goal orientation, creeping laziness in the sure thing. Once you get into the habits of laziness, you would have tough time to get out of it. So, discipline your thoughts, believe in taking action and bring proactiveness in your daily life.
Ultimate Goal; Peace of mind and Happiness!!
